Seasoning, not a side dish
Hi! I’m Megan D’Alessio and I love a good food metaphor.
That’s why I say that in the “meal” of any company, the most effective people & culture strategies are “seasoning, not a side dish”. When it comes to shifting the way people work, isolated and out-of-the-box solutions rarely work because they are implemented onto rather than integrated into existing workplace practices. To achieve meaningful and lasting change, I work with each client to understand their unique business and culture so I can recommend solutions that stick.
Through my work at prominent companies such as Box, Gap Inc., and Pinterest, I have over a decade of industry-tested expertise building effective teams, equitable workplace practices, and productive cultures. Grounded in both theory and application, I drive sustainable outcomes for organizations regardless of size or sector. My expertise spans corporate and academic environments, including time as a Lecturer at the Stanford d.school that was foundational to the launch of Pinterest’s first-of-its kind, patented “body type technology”.
Previously, I earned my B.A. in Social Welfare & City Planning from the University of California, Berkeley and my M.Ed. in Curriculum Design & Instruction from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas while working as a Teach For America corps member. In my free time, I create pottery, host game nights, and spend time exploring Southern California with my dog, Peperoncini.
